And I would like to share with you the Hanukkah recipe of the traditional latkes.
We're gonna be starting with one pound of your regular potatoes.
So we'll just peel the potatoes.
The miracle of Hanukkah is mainly with the oil.
And so therefore we're gonna end off frying these in oil.
So we peeled a few potatoes, about a pound of potatoes, and now we're gonna grate the potatoes.
After peeling our onion, we're gonna grate this onion.
We talked about one small onion, for this size recipe for one pound of potatoes.
Now we got our zucchini.
Let's cut off the ends.
Let's go at it.
Add some oil, just a little bit of oil for frying.
Let that go.
Now we can add our egg, add it to the mixture.
And then we'll add in spices.
So a little bit of pepper.
About a half a teaspoon of pepper, teaspoon of salt.
I guess we'll use that spoon.
I'll mix that up.
Together, all mixed together.
We'll add our flour, just to hold everything together for when we fry it.
Mix it up nicely and evenly.
We got that together.
We'll add about two tablespoons of oil.
That's about two tablespoons.
So we'll put a little bit in.
Kinda make little small circles, push them down a little bit.
Just they'll cook more evenly.
Mmm, they're smelling really nice.
So you see it's starting to get a little bit golden brown on the edges.
So then we're going to flip them.
So they're soaking in that oil.
Okay.
So I think these are ready to take them off.
Just that some people like to enjoy them with a little bit of apple sauce.
Others prefer the sour cream.
You could always serve both.
But as well as, as we mentioned beforehand, one of the main miracles of Hanukkah was the oil and the oils used to light the Menorah and so the idea is to continue adding in lights.
Every night we add one more light and with adding one more light, we're gonna expel all the darkness that is around us.
And that's what we hope for.
And we look forward to that.
